In the Kalikalos community in Greece, we had the privilege of creating our newest labyrinth: a classical five-circuit labyrinth that, from the very first moment, seemed as though it had always belonged to the landscape. Many people said after it was completed that it looked as if it had been there forever. As though the mountain, the stones, the ferns, and the ivy had simply reclaimed something that had always been theirs. It was born in every shade of green. Built from green stones, deep within a green forest, embraced by ferns and ivy. Among ancient oaks and towering chestnut trees, where Mount Pelion meets the Aegean Sea. Formed from stones that took millions of years to become what they are today, and that have now come together to create a single, shared path. It was a profound honour for us to build in such a place. Founded in 2001, Kalikalos has welcomed thousands of people from around the world over the past twenty-five years. Volunteers, artists, therapists, and seekers have found community, a close connection with nature, and many different expressions of spirituality here.
