View Map View Map

Like our historic roses or the English Meadow, our hornbeam labyrinth is a tribute to the high art of gardening from bygone eras. It is laid out in a strictly geometric style, belonging to the group of formal hedge mazes. The design is based on a 16th-century Italian labyrinth. The two outer sections require a bit of ingenuity, but finding the right path becomes increasingly easier as you move inwards. Approximately 3 km of path length over an area of 2000 m² formed from approximately 15,000 hornbeam plants, the largest hornbeam labyrinth in southern Germany
