View Map View Map

In 1795, a group of Dutch farmers south of Albany, New York, set about searching for some land on which to erect a house of worship. The local patroon, Stephen Van Rensselear, agreed to deed over the land to the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church on Bethlehem and Jericho. It was a considerable piece of property, something more than one hundred acres. While some of the land was later given to a local cemetery association, more than seventy acres have remained under the care of the present church. The Labyrinth was put into the ground on the north lawn next to the church in 2010.
