This hedge maze is being grown on the side of a hill on our farm in Wisanger, Kangaroo Island, South Australia. The bushes are natives to the island, grown from local seed stock. It is a large maze with magnificent views across the valley of the Cygnet River and across Nepean Bay to Redbanks. It is not yet fully pruned as of March 2020, though the bushes are growing well. We hope to have it ready for the public by Christmas holidays 2020-21.

Maze
Hedge maze grown in Melaleuca gibbosa which is native to most of Kangaroo Island, including the Wisanger Hills where it is located. It is in the shape of a fingerprint, with the aim to enter at the bottom, reach the centre, then exit at the top. There are stunning views from within and above the maze. It is pruned rather casually but still has dense rows, 6-8 ft hedges and is easy to get lost in.

Call
Potentially open by appointment as an outing for families during coronavirus epidemic, as it's out of doors and a long way from any structures. Families can visit by appointment without making any contact with other groups. Since our farm has been threatened by fire in summer 2019-20, please keep tabs on weather conditions, catastrophic fire days and any fires in the Menzies area, as the public should not be entering the area under those conditions.
